
Felix Okoboi
Mr. Felix Okoboi is an experienced finance and investments professional, with over 25 years of local and international finance, development finance, real estate and project management experience. He currently specializes in consultancy and advisory work in Distressed Assets, Real Estate and Equity Investments. During this time he also consulted for several years as Technical Advisor for Investments to the Board of Directors of NSSF, as Apex member (for Investments) of the Financial Markets Development Committee (FMDC) set up by and advisors to the Governor of the Bank of Uganda. He also led the team that set up the Assets Reconstruction Company (ARC) established by the Uganda Bankers Association to resolve non-performing loans in Uganda’s banking sector.
Felix holds and has held several key positions in Uganda’s financial sector. He is the Board Chairman of Uganda Development Bank, Board Chairman of Britam Insurance Uganda, Board Chairman of aBi Development and Board Chairman of aBi Finance. He is the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Yield Uganda Investment Fund, Uganda’s first locally domiciled and largest Impact Equity Investment Fund for Agribusiness, set up by the European Union, IFAD and NSSF. He also a Board Member on the boards of East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) and Uganda Breweries Ltd (UBL).
Felix was previously Chief Executive Officer of Uganda’s National Housing and Construction Company, Financial Sector Advisor to KfW Entwicklungsbank (German Development Bank) and Executive Director/Head of Investments of First Renaissance Securities, previously Renaissance Capital, a member of the Uganda Securities Exchange. Prior to that, he was a Vice President with Kalahari Advisors LLC, and an investment banker in the Leveraged Finance group at Wachovia Securities in the USA. During this time he worked on and executed leveraged acquisitions, refinancings and recapitalizations, among other transactions. Before he worked on Wall Street, he was a Project Manager and Architect for a leading regional consultancy, responsible for overseeing the execution of several multimillion-dollar projects.
Felix holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a graduate of the Aachen University of Technology (RWTH Aachen) in Germany where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Engineering with a major in Architecture.
